"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

-Marianne Williamson

Our New Ministry is Born!

Many of you have heard the news that I have “begun a new Ministry”…

Is it true?

Like Will Smith’s Bagger Vance character says, “Well, it is and it ain’t.”

 Here's what's "true":

When I successfully completed my ordination panel in June, I was encouraged to begin visioning for “my ministry”. When I began visioning, I experienced an ever-increasing urging; a sense of pulling. New iterations of creative training ideas, healing group interactions and community activities I’d entertained long ago came flooding in again, and I was reminded that “Yes, there is so much more required of me”. This is when I knew I needed to resign my position as Assistant Minister of East Bay Church (effective November 1st, 2009).

I love East Bay Church and appreciate that Rev E personally invited me to serve with her, and that she carved out a place for me in our amazing church family. For more than a decade, it has been my joy to have lovingly served, supported, and contributed my very best to our East Bay Church family.

EBCRS truly IS my family. And as is appropriate in all healthy families, at some point the children grow up, move out, and are expected to expand the family legacy in the world. It was time for my relationship with East Bay Church to transform, and for me to live out my full calling. I believe this transition is an expanded opportunity for all of us.

I now honor that I had been “with child” myself for the past five years and had been waiting for the faith and courage to deliver my baby--my ministry. Fear was no longer an option; Trust is the only way. So, I stepped up in faith—Trusting God; honoring that it’s time for me to bring forth and mother my own baby and further extend our spiritual family.

So, you see, this is a good and glorious shift for all of us and we are still in this together. I am fully committed to making myself available to those who desire my support in clarifying and/or processing this expansion in our community.

All that I’ve learned and practice keeps me fully empowered to choose this new direction for myself, even as the East Bay Church continues to thrive in its own mission. This is a bittersweet testament of my commitment to serve in ministry: I surrender to God’s vision that I honor my own emerging ministry—for such a time as this!

I love you with all my heart and soul,

Rev Andriette
